Bought a refurbished Krups XP1500 Coffee and Expresso Combination Machine, Black as a wedding gift for a neice. The packaging box was crushed as was the interior manufacturers packaging.

We replaced a Krups espresso machine and seperate coffee maker with this machine. Both had served us well, and so far, this one has as well. It is a rather large unit, deep, and sticks out quite far on the counter. That is my only, minor, complaint. Coffee and espresso both are fantastic with the machine.

I like this coffeemaker. It is silent while it brews and takes only a few minutes to make an entire pot. I don’t use the cappacino part too often, but I like having only one machine on my counter instead of a coffemaker AND a cappacino machine. This is a very nice product. I would highly recommend it.

This is my second espresso machine. Unlike my first one, I didn’t do any research before buying and have regretted it. The frother doesn’t stick out all that well and makes it hard to get a cup to froth the milk. It also stopped working after about third or fourth month. You have to use the glass contain for espresso because it is hard to place a coffee mug under the spout. Finally, you have to buy coffee filters and is a pain.

I had such high hopes for this machine. I am a huge espresso drinker. I used to own an ancient hand pump machine but it was hurt.
I bought this not thinking I would get a fantastic espresso but at least a decent one. This produced a horrible espresso. I tired to learn the machine and compensate for its weaknesses but it did not matter. I never even got an espresso that I would of considered average. Espresso machine was a major disappointment
The coffee was the same, I couldn’t figure it out, it never brewed a excellent cup. I came out with a routine, 2 16oz bottles of cold filtered water and an exact measure of coffee. Pretty much the exact amount every time. The coffee was bearable but for some reason it was never consistent, even though nothing changed. My wife on the other hand could not use it, and went to dunkin donuts everyday. The coffee maker, was a disappointment as well as you had to walk a tight rope to get a decent cup from it.
I got a free Gevalia machine when I agreed to buy some coffee which was a excellent deal. Then my wife got a Keurig which is convenient but the coffee is bland and watered down.
Brewing pots with a machine is the cheaper way to go by far. Small 4 to 6 cup pots yield the best flavor. I would recommend if you thinking of Keurig, don’t go that road. Check out the Flavia machine, the coffee is 10x’s better and it consistent, you always fantastic the same fantastic cup everytime, never watered down. Its just as excellent a brewing a pot the ancient fasioned way.
